Ohhhhh, Gotye’s ‘Bronte’ is about an old dog dying/being put down.

That makes sense now.

And it also makes it far more acutely morose and sad and meaningful than ‘Somebody I Used to Know’…because songs about dead puppies are always saddest. Always.

Saddest thing in the world, this song has always been my favorite but I could never put my finger on the meaning. But now listening to the lyrics, it nearly makes me cry because it all makes sense. Much sadder than a break up, no doubt.
